Rain
Heavy rain can make it really difficult to see out of your windshield. Prepare your vehicle so that it can handle these conditions.
Rain-x is water repellant spray that will help water bead up on the glass for better visibility.
Additionally, you will want to make sure you have properly working wiper blades to keep your windshield clear. Just in case yours wear out or break on the road, have an
extra set of wiper blades in your vehicle for a backup. Do not forget to check your wiper fluid levels as well.
Insects
Depending on where you are driving, you could end up with a whole windshield full of bug splatters. Especially at night, these splatters can really make it difficult to see out. If this is the case, stop at a gas station and use their window cleaning solution and squeegee to keep your windshield clear longer.
Fogging Up
Trying to see out of a fogged up windshield can be a hazard. If your windshield wants to keep fogging up, you will want to make sure you clean it with an ammonia-based cleaning product. If your car is cooler than the temperature outside, fog can form. Use the defroster to blast warm air onto the windshield to help remove the fog. This will help keep your windshield clear.
Ice
Ice on a windshield can make it impossible to see out. If you know ice is coming, raise your windshield wiper blades so that they do not get iced down on your car. Another trick is to lay cardboard down between your windshield and wiper blades. This will prevent ice from being able to build up there, helping keep your windshield clear
Sometimes, you can not prevent ice building up on your windshield. If this happens, make sure to have an ice-scraper available. You can use it to scrape the ice off of your windshield.
